Christmas Wish List

I'm obsessed with nail polish these days. I can't get enough of all the different colors. I've been spending way too much money on mani's and pedi's because I want to change my nail color so much. I know your thinking just do it yourself right? Well I try but I always do a horrible job, plus my hands are shaky which doesn't make for painting tiny fingernails. It turns out looking like a 5 year old painted them. I found this fun color and want to try it but I think you can only order it, plus it is $18.00. Doesn't that seem expensive? Anyways, if your stumped on what to get me for Christmas here you go :)

Sunday Sunday Sunday

I look forward to Sundays because I get to read a brand new batch of secrets on http://postsecret.blogspot.com/. I learned of this website through a friend of mine and I've been hooked ever since. I find it so fascinating what people write on their postcards. A few favorites from today are...
This is kinda scary when you think about. These days people can find out WAY too much about you and you not even know about it. Keep your profiles private people!

This secret puts life in perspective for me. No matter how bad I think I have it (which I don't at all) there is always someone out there hurting more. Remember to carpe diem!

Run Fat Boy Run

It official...I signed up to run the Country Music Marathon. Wait let me correct that... 1/2 marathon. I'm crazy but not that crazy. My roommate Grace talked me into it. The date is April 25th so I have some time. My goal is to run it all and not walk. Keep your fingers crossed because as of right now I can only run a mile without passing out. :) If anyone wants to join us in this deathtrap or if you just like torture here is some info....

Fat Bottom Girls

So a lovely article appeared in the news yesterday about my birthplace, West Virginia. The article claims that Huntington, WV is the "unhealthiest" US city. The article also talks about how over half the people 65 and older are "toothless." That's just great! Why stop there? Why not just go on a say they also don't wear shoes and their mother is also their sister. What they did fail to mention is that the Huntington-Ashland Metropolitan Area also consist of counties in Kentucky and Ohio...so its not just the West Virginians that are obese. The article also suggests that the people in this area DON'T CARE. Sure thats it, they like being toothless, obese, diabetics. Below is a link to the distastful article. Please read with caution.

I'm in L.O.V.E

Yep that's right, I'm in love! His name is Edward Cullen and he is a vampire. :) Didn't see that one coming huh. Anyways, for those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about you OBVIOUSLY haven't read Twilight. So I admit when Heather (friend/co-worker) told me about the book series I was skeptical and thought to myself "yeah I'm gonna skip out on that" ...but I ended up giving it a shot. After that nothing was the same. My weekend was consumed with reading, no wait my entire life was consumed by these books. I read the first two in one weekend. Pathetic you say, maybe but I don't care. Nothing can tear me away from Edward now. Its crazy/scary how emotional these books have made me. Is that normal? Anyone else ever get so wrapped up in a fictional story? I recommend this book series to everyone...well except young teens (its actually a teen novel series but I think it is WAY to sexual for teens. The third book is sitting on my desk just begging to be read so I must go...

NYC

So I recently took a trip to NYC with three amazing women. We all went to high school together and I'm thrilled that we are able to maintain our friendship. We all currently live in different cities (Terra-Huntington, Lydia-DC, Kristin-Raleigh, Myself-Nashville) and thought NYC would be a great gathering spot. Check out some of the highlights...

Magnolia Bakery...not as good as we hoped :(

Trying not to look like tourist

Tortilla Flats...such a fun place. I recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

Going Green

So lately I have been trying hard to be as green as possible. Some days are better than others. I wanted to share a few news things I've been doing. First I have stopped all the unnecessary magazines that I receive in the mail. Its just as easy to look on the internet so why waste all that paper and trees. I found this great website that contacts the companys for you and tells them to stop mailing catalogs. All you have to do is type in your address. Check it out please! https://www.catalogchoice.org/

With the holidays rapidly approaching I have been thinking and researching ways to be eco-friendly during all the hoopla. Christmas cards...if you send them the snail mail way you have several options. I have found many cards made from recycled paper, veggie based inks, and just all around more eco-friendly. There are also many websites that have charity Christmas cards. These might not be eco-friendly but they are all for a great cause. Check out these websites http://www.cardsthatgive.org/
http://www.goodcausegreetings.com/
http://www.redstamp.com/
If you want to be really green just send e-cards!!

One last thing...for a GREAT christmas present check out TOMS shoes at http://www.tomsshoes.com/. For every pair purchased they give a child in need a pair of shoes. How cool is that?!

Hi!

Hello everyone reading this (which is probably about a total of two). So I decided to start a blog...why you ask? Well there are several reasons which I will list...
1. Everyone is doing it
2. I thoroughly enjoy reading other blogs and thought maybe just maybe someone might enjoy mine.
3. I love my computer and anything that has to do with technology.
4. To share my day to day experiences working with the elderly population
5. To share my love of cooking, tv watching, shopping, and surfing the internet
So there you go, the top five reasons I started a blog. :0) Enjoy!!!
